Excell Museum Twilight Tour 2017

The highlight event of the year for the Excell Museum is the twilight tour. It’s timed to coincide with the influx of tourists, visiting Tumby Bay for the holidays. VacSwim and Family Mission are on during the same week.

Ross Story & his Clydesdale “Frosty” offered free trolley rides for the evening, from the Tumby Bay Caravan Park to the Museum, and back again. Ross runs trolley rides every day during the holidays. We appreciate him giving up his time to provide the rides for the museum.

The Excell Museum is a working Museum preserving what is a dwindling skill. The forge is alight on the night, with guest blacksmith Fred Schmarl, from the Tea Tree Gully Heritage Museum operating the Forge. Fred Is one of the rare few with a Blacksmith Trade certification & his efforts on the night were certainly appreciated.

Ian Charlton took the role of Tour Guide, calling on his extensive knowledge of the machines and their function.

Don’t forget that the Museum is open each 2nd and 4th Sunday in the month and 4th Sunday only during winter.
